Burnley are lining up a potential bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen, per The Daily Mail.
The Clarets are keen to sign a new striker before the transfer deadline and have identified the Spurs outcast as a possible recruit.
What’s the word?
Janssen has been out of the reckoning for Spurs in recent months.
The striker was signed from AZ Alkmaar for £17million, but the forward has scored just six goals for the club in 39 appearances, according to Transfermarkt.
However, Janssen is not in Spurs’ plans and has been playing for the club’s Under-23 side this season in order to keep his fitness up.

Burnley are considering a move before the transfer deadline, according to the report, and are also interested in Birmingham City’s Che Adams.
First of many
Spurs need to ensure that Janssen leaving sparks a number of departures.
The likes of Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Michel Vorm are also below the standard required by Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs look to achieve their goals this season.
The striker has been frozen out and will surely be allowed to leave if Burnley make a decent bid.
N’Koudou, however, has been given something of a chance in recent weeks, making a cameo against Fulham and being named in the starting XI against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup, while Vorm is the club’s third-choice goalkeeper and seemingly has little chance of usurping either Hugo Lloris or Paulo Gazzaniga.
The transfer deadline is on Thursday; Tottenham need to shift the deadwood before the window slams shut, starting with Janssen.
