Mauricio Pochettino has been unable to make his mind up this year over whether he wants Kieran Trippier or Serge Aurier at right-back for Spurs, with both players registering at least 19 turnouts in the league this season.
Spurs fans seem to have made their mind up on whether they want the latter taking the field for them, though, with famous faithful and former Spurs chairman Sir Alan Sugar calling for Aurier to say ‘Au Revoir’ after a dreadful performance against Crystal Palace.
Aurier registered three foul throws on Sunday, and the Ivorian also trod on the ball with the goal at his mercy in the latter stages of Spurs’ 1-0 win at Selhurst Park.
Pochettino appeared to be only half-joking when he said to Aurier that he was going to get him sacked for his throw-in indiscretions, and with the Ivorian having registered only one assist and a goal this season, he might be the odd one out when adjustments are made in the summer.
What do Spurs fans think about Aurier’s place in the team? Is he a transfer hit or transfer miss following his £22m signing from PSG in the summer?
