Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side moved up to second in the Scottish Premier League after demolishing St Johnstone 5-1 on Sunday.
Captain James Tavernier opened the scoring with a free-kick after just nine minutes, setting the tone for what was to come, and Rangers fans on Twitter were buzzing with the strike.
Shortly after, the right-back once again had a free-kick within shooting distance, but this time he struck the crossbar. It wouldn’t matter though, as Alfredo Morelos netted his seventh goal of the season on returning to the side.
Summer signing Scott Arfield then netted his second goal of the week after scoring in the 2-2 draw with Villareal, and the other scorer in the Europa League Kyle Lafferty netted Rangers fourth against St Johnstone with a neat low finish.
Blair Alston won and scored a penalty for the away side, but it was only a consolation and winger Daniel Candeias scored once more for the Gers to put the cherry on top of a brilliant performance.
It was Tavernier’s goal that was the pick of the bunch though. Check out some of the best reactions to the 26-year-old’s strike below.
